Taylor Swift's Shoe Evolution: A Deep Dive Into the Singer's Diverse Footwear Style

I’ve recently started a quest to fill in the blank space above, and not only am I NOT out of the woods, I found myself completely lost in a deep, dark forest. After some research, it’s basically impossible to define the pop queen’s footwear range. In fact, I think she might have multiple shoe style personalities. (To be fair, who doesn’t?) So I’ve taken on the brave task of trying to categorize her various footwear phases. Below, a history of her most defining shoe moments, a.k.a., a Tay Timeline I urge everyone to step into.

Country Cool, 2005-2009
It’s hard to remember a world when Taylor strictly rocked bedazzled cowboy boots and deconstructed banana curls, but it was her trademark for the first four years of her career.

Laced-Up Lady, 2008-2011
These were transformative years for Taylor’s style. She started to lose her country flare and developed a more classic, nouveau school girl aesthetic.

Sorority Girl Meets Society Girl, 2012-2013
This was when Taylor was totally Blair Waldorfing IRL. She also dated Patrick Schwarzenneger in 2012, which means she was Kennedy family adjacent (Patrick’s mom Maria Shriver is a Kennedy through her mom, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who was siblings with former president John F. Kennedy), and the Kennedy connection explains the modest footwear choices, from school-girl oxfords to demure Charlotte Olympia “kitty” pumps.

High-Fashion Hipster, 2014
Remember that period when Taylor Swift solely wore high-heeled, lace-up oxfords and mini hemlines? Well, here’s your reminder.

Rock ‘N’ Roll Chick, 2015-2016
Anna Wintour staged a style intervention on the star for the May 2016 cover of Vogue, and it looks like the grungy, almost goth-level makeover has stuck.
“I’m thrilled that it’s Taylor Swift, who’s my co-chair this year at the Met Gala,” Wintour shared when the cover was revealed. “And we very much wanted to give Taylor a new look, make her into a sort of a rock n’ roll chick.”
We also have a feeling Tay’s transition into pop and her DJ boyfriend Calvin Harris might also have something to do with her edgier style.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Are Each Other's Dates for This Year's Met Gala

Of course Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez will be attending Monday’s Met Galatogether.
“We’re going together,” an excited Gomez told Access Hollywood earlier this week. The BFFs also plan on getting ready together before the big night (and Swift is co-chairing the event).
“It’s so fun. It’s going to be the best. It’s like kind of prom for fashion,” Gomez, 23, said. But she kept mum on what her gala look will be. “I’m not trying to get in trouble,” she joked. But, she said, the look is “beautiful” and “so cool.”

“I love going, because everybody just shows up and just feels great and has fun,” Gomez said.
Meanwhile the “Hands to Myself” singer is gearing up for her next tour. Will Swift, 26, be making an appearance, just as Gomez made an appearance on her last tour? “She would in a heartbeat,” Gomez told Access Hollywood, “but she knows how important this tour is for me and I do want to make it about me for a while.”
And of her tour looks, Gomez said don’t expect them to be much different from her look so far.

Kesha Returns to Studio in Recording Session with Zedd, As Dr. Luke Responds to the DJ on Twitter

After performing during his set at Coachella, Kesha has returned to the studio for a recording session with Zedd

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the singer shared a black and white image of herself in the recording booth.

"It's a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a f---ing beautiful person with a heart of gold @zedd #truecolors," the 29-year-old captioned the photo

Zedd also shared a number of Instagrams of the pair in the studio, revealing, "ZEDD & KESHA - TRUE COLORS. OFFICIALLY OUT: 4/29 Music can be freedom."

The DJ later took to Twitter, sharing that he and Kesha – who is in the middle of a legal battle to be released from her contract with music producer Dr. Luke – were given permission to do the song.

"Just to clarify: We didn't use any loopholes. Kemosable / RCA gave us permission to release," Zedd wrote.

Not too long after, Luke responded to the Tweet writing, "Thanks for the clarification @Zedd."

Kesha has been open with fans through her social media networks about working on her craft, despite her ongoing legal battle with Luke.

First filing in October 2014, Kesha alleged that Luke had drugged, raped and emotionally and verbally abused her – accusations he has adamantly denied and for which he has never been charged. Most of the musician's claims were dismissed in court in early April, but the lawsuit to end her recording contractwith Luke is continuing.

Calvin Harris announces new single with Rihanna, 'This Is What You Came For'

Calvin Harris and Rihanna are back at it.
The Scottish DJ announced his upcoming single, “This Is What You Came For,” on Wednesday, which reunites him with the ANTI pop star.
Harris and Rihanna linked up in 2011 for the mega hit “We Found Love,” which was so popular that it sits at No. 25 on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Hot 100 chart, ranked ahead of songs like Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.” She joined Harris to perform that song during his headlining set at Coachella this month.
Harris also has a co-writer and co-producer credit on another Rih song from the same album, Talk That Talk (“Where Have You Been”).
Earlier Wednesday, Harris vaguely teased info on the new track.
His last effort came in summer 2015 with the Disciples collaboration “How Deep Is Your Love.”
“This Is What You Came For” will be released Friday.

Kid Rock 'Beyond Devastated' After Personal Assistant Found Dead at His Nashville Property

Kid Rock's personal assistant has been found dead at his Nashville property, PEOPLE can confirm.

The Tennessean reports that Michael Sacha, 30, died following an apparent ATV accident, while he was driving guests to a cookout on the rapper's sprawling estate on Sunday.

Police informed the publication that Sacha lost control of the vehicle, crashing on his way back to the home after dropping guests off to catch an Uber.

In a statement on his official website, Rock said he is "beyond devastated," adding: "He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with. I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I cannot imagine how they must feel."

Rock, 45, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, is said to have called for help Monday morning after finding the body.

Rock added in his statement that he was planned to go back to Michigan but is now staying in Tennessee so he can "bring him home to his family."

The "Cowboy" singer also said: "I'm asking everyone to please respect our and his families' privacy in this difficult time. RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend.
